Database-driven plant guide
Large Pet-Safe Floor Plants
Large houseplants create a different pet-household problem from tabletop plants. The plant may be non-toxic while the container, soil, foliage and physical placement remain directly accessible.
Every plant in this guide is currently classified non-toxic to both cats and dogs and carries PawPlants' governed floor/large discovery trait.
That classification addresses toxicity within the plant record's evidence scope. It does not mean a large planter cannot be tipped, soil cannot be disturbed, or every location is suitable.
How this population is governed
This list is derived from the current PawPlants governed plant database. Inclusion requires a published record, a current Non-toxic classification for both cats and dogs, and the exact governed Floor / large discovery trait. It is not a comprehensive list of every houseplant in existence.
Non-toxic does not mean risk-free or intended for ingestion. Chewing plant material can still cause irritation, choking or gastrointestinal upset. Use each linked plant record for the governed botanical identity and evidence scope.

Compare governed overlaps
These groupings use only other traits already present in the same governed records. They are comparison aids, not rankings.
Plan for the whole container
Before placing a large plant, consider the complete watered weight, base stability, normal walking routes and whether foliage extends into a pet's normal space. If elevation or furniture is involved, use the Plant Stands guide for the full access-route and loaded-weight framework.
